Art, Design & Technology - The Power to Communicate.

I have been passionate about Graphic Art and Design nearly my entire life.  My experience spans 40 years in traditional art and design, and 20 years in digital.

This field is not just a profession to me, it is personal, and I bring that personal attention to detail to every design job I undertake.  To stay ahead, I I am constantly researching and updating my knowledge, skills and abilities to keep up with the ever changing technologies that affect the Graphic Design field.

I am a sustaining member of AIGA (Association of Graphic Designers), and I am happy to say that after  20 years in the design field, I am finally  returning to school to complete my Associates Degree in Graphic Design.  Earning my degree in Graphic Design will back my work experience with formal education.   Besides growing my business, my goal is to continue my education to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, and I one day hope to earn a Masters in Fine Art.

My experience is diverse, making me uniquely qualified to just meet, but exceed your design and branding needs and expetations.

Bio:

My design experience and  services cover traditional and digital, concept and fine art & design, including logo and web design, from business cards to billboards, and everything in between.  Proficiencies include a variety of traditional  and digital mediums including, but certainly not limited to:  Adobe CS6 and CC Suites, CorelDraw, Painter, Sketch and more.

Early on, I began reading and studying every book she could get her hands on about the anatomy and movement of the horse and was determined to not just mimic, but to understand the physical mechanics of each movement.       By high school I was asked to illustrate the school mascot for graduation invitations, a huge 8’X30’ backdrop and program which was placed in the school time capsule for 1978.  I had amazing art instructors and mentors who pushed me to try different mediums and to break out of my comfort zone to create award winning artwork at such a young age.Right out of high school I was commissioned to do several oil portraits of horses by their owners, and even illustrations for the Press Enterprise, a local newspaper.  My freelance work continued in pencil, pen and ink, oils, glass etching and block printing. In the early 1980's, I was working at an art store part time, which gave me the ability to stock up on supplies, but not enough to pay the rent.  Looking to find a career that was closely art related, but also provided a steady income I decided to study drafting and technical drawing, and in 1985 became certified in Computer Drafting and Design.   CAD stations may have been scarce in 1985, but the mechanical pencil and pen and ink work was right up my alley.  When I was young I wanted to be either a veterinarian or a technical illustrator, illustrating medical manuals.

Still doing freelance work and continuing my education, I began intern work drawing water distribution maps for Western Municipal Water District in 1985.  At the end of my internship, I was hired as an Engineering Technician by the Deutsch Company to do both manual and CAD mechanical drawings.  In the spring of 1987 I took an Engineering Aide position for the City of Hemet which included surveying and hand drawing maps and civil plans.   In 1992 I began using CorelDRAW to create vector drawings, flyers, brochures, calendars and other forms of print media. Soon after,  began using Photoshop for photo editing, and have continued to learn and use these tools ever since.  My job morphed over the years based on the needs of the organization - from Engineering Technician to Multimedia/Website Administrator, 24 years later.  I stayed at the City of Hemet until my retirement on December 31, 2011.

I continued my personal education and experience, and in 1994 she expanded her business to include building and selling home and office computer systems and networking. Computer graphics and web hosting and design soon followed.  Over the next 24 years, my career with the City of Hemet evolved and afforded her the opportunity to pursue her education even further and branch into other disciplines such as AutoCAD, Geographic Information Systems and database design, development and query.

I currently live in Riverside, CA and attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division studying for her AS in Graphic Design, then my BS in Graphic Design, and a Masters in Fine Art.  Going to school on-line allows me the flexibility to continue to build my business doing what I love,  and spend time with family and friends.
